Abstract
This seminar explores the evolving role of “value” in shaping the nextGEN of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) mechanisms. Prof. Manuel Espinoza will provide a conceptual foundation, examining the philosophy and meaning of value in HTA, and positioning cost-effectiveness as a principled tool for value-based decision-making. Dr. Tina Wang will bring a practical perspective, drawing on international experiences to illustrate how value frameworks are operationalized across jurisdictions and what core building blocks are needed for robust HTA systems. Together, the session offers both conceptual clarity and applied insights to guide future HTA development.
