The SCAN2030 Project Website, including its design, layout, text, graphics, logos, audio-visual materials, software, code, databases, datasets, data compilations, metadata, search results, tables, indexes, outputs, screenshots, screen captures, visual displays, trade names, brand assets and other content, materials and intellectual property made available on or through it, is owned by or licensed to Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (“HKU”) and is protected by copyright, database rights (where applicable), trade mark rights and other intellectual property and proprietary rights.
3. Where the SCAN2030 Project Website includes or draws on data, materials or other content sourced from third parties, rights in those materials may belong to the relevant third-party rightsholders. You are responsible for obtaining any permissions that may be required for any use beyond that expressly permitted by the Terms of Use or applicable laws that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted by contract.
4. Subject to the Terms of Use of the SCAN2030 Project Website, Target Users may access and view the SCAN2030 Project Website and may download or print reasonable extracts from the SCAN2030 Project Website solely for their own lawful, personal, non-commercial and non-profit research, educational or policy-development purposes. This limited permission is for personal reference only and does not permit any external, public-facing, promotional, publication, presentation, exhibition, event, social media, website, media, press, commercial or other dissemination or exploitation of any content, data, materials, screenshots, outputs, logos, brand assets or other intellectual property from or relating to the SCAN2030 Project Website without HKU’s prior written permission.
5. Except as expressly permitted by the Terms of Use, expressly permitted or otherwise approved by HKU in writing, or permitted by applicable law and incapable of lawful exclusion or restriction by contract, no part of the SCAN2030 Project Website, including any content, materials, data, outputs, screenshots, screen captures, visual displays, logos, brand assets, trade marks, trade names, get-up or other intellectual property from or relating to the SCAN2030 Project Website, may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, publicly displayed, transmitted, communicated to the public, distributed, adapted, translated, modified, incorporated into other materials, indexed, scraped, mined, mirrored, downloaded in bulk, reverse engineered, decompiled, disassembled, used to create derivative works, incorporated into any database, dataset, repository or information service, or otherwise exploited by any means or in any form without HKU’s prior written permission.
6. Without HKU’s prior written permission, you must not use, reproduce, publish, disclose, distribute, communication to the public, make available, display, incorporate or otherwise exploit any content, materials, data, outputs, screenshots, screen captures, visual displays, logos, brand assets, trade marks, trade names, get-up or other intellectual property from or relating to the SCAN2030 Project Website in any conference presentation, academic or other publication, website, social media post, exhibition, public event, press or media material, marketing or promotional material, or any other public-facing activity.
7. Without HKU’s prior written permission, you must not systematically extract, download, copy, scrape, mirror, cache, harvest or reuse any substantial part of the databases, datasets or other data made available on or through the SCAN2030 Project Website (including the Innovative Medicine Database), create or contribute to any other database, dataset, repository or information service, whether commercial or non-commercial, or use any such content or data to train, test, validate or benchmark any algorithmic, statistical or artificial intelligence model or system.
8. “SCAN2030”, “SCAN-2030” and the associated names, logos, get-up, marks, trade names, brand assets and other indicia used on or in connection with the SCAN2030 Project Website are HKU’s trade marks or brand assets (or those of its affiliates or licensors). Nothing in this Copyright Notice or the Terms of Use grants you any right to use them, and you must not copy, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, communicate to the public, adapt, modify, incorporate into other materials or otherwise use any such names, logos, get-up, marks, trade names, brand assets or other indicia without HKU’s prior written permission.
9. Where HKU expressly permits you to download or use any content, data or database content from the SCAN2030 Project Website, you must comply with any conditions that HKU specifies, keep all copyright, trade mark, proprietary and source notices intact, must not misrepresent the content, data or its provenance, context or methodology, and must identify the SCAN2030 Project Website as the source in any permitted personal use or other use expressly approved by HKU in writing.
10. Requests for permission to use materials from the SCAN2030 Project Website should be sent to scan2030@hku.hk.
